Shane Schuhmacher
Hello. I have spent nearly 20 years in the Human Services field and after earning my counseling psychology degree, it became even more clear how to best help others through the counseling process. Counseling is a process of self-discovery and being able to help people learn how to deal more effectively with situations in their lives appeals to my fascination with the human condition. It is important to build a therapeutic relationship so we are able to get a deeper understanding of your thoughts and emotions to support you in feeling better and moving forward. I utilize a variety of approaches, but commonly employ cognitive behavioral and solution focused approaches, and motivational interviewing techniques to explore issues including, but not limited to, depression, addiction and substance abuse, stress, anger, anxiety, problems with self- esteem, grief, issues related to mental and emotional health, and relational problems. I will meet you with unconditional positive regard and respect. Using active listening and reflections, my approach is individualized and client centered so as to support you in achieving your potential along with your goals and objectives. It is really powerful having trouble imagining a problem being solved, and as we work together, change and understanding both will happen along the way. I look forward to working with you! Take good care, and talk soon.

Hello, I'm Liz! Thank you for taking time to read about me, and my therapy approach. I earned my Master Degree in Social work with an emphasis in Mental Health in 2018 and am now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Clients would best describe me as warm, kind, and reflective. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Treatment approaches that I find most beneficial are cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, attachment theory, psychodynamic, mindfulness, and family therapy modalities. My hope is for the therapeutic experience to be a user friendly as possible. I enjoy working with individuals who want to learn more about themselves, improve confidence and find empowerment! Individuals who are struggling and are looking for support in terms of interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation, impacts of trauma, grief/loss, life transitions, problem-solving and who could use support in finding meaning from life experiences. I think the greatest growth occurs along with the courage to explore oneself, make meaningful connections, feelings of competency, experience freedom of choice and build confidence! I am a Certified Grief Counselor as well as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, and I currently am training in Woman's Health although welcome all genders and identities! I love to laugh and welcome senses of humor :)
