I will help you in your desire to close the gap between where you are right now and where you want to be in the future, with the support of individualized therapy sessions. Let's find a solution together! My name is Ms. Eaves. I am a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a board-certified counselor. Currently, I am pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Psychology with a specialization in addictions. I began my Counseling career 2014. Although cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the primary modality that I focus on, I use an eclectic psychotherapy approach to meet the client-specific need. To illustrate, I provide clients with CBT tools to deal with events of everyday living and explore critical issues using an approach that is appropriate to meet the client-specific problems. The CBT approach has many advantages in multicultural counseling situations. Thus, if therapists understand the core value of their culturally diverse clients, they can help clients explore these values and gain a full awareness of their conflicting feelings. As a therapist with a cognitive behavioral orientation, I will educate you to focus on learning skills to deal with your problems of living. Then you and I will work together to develop a detailed case conceptualization to understand how you views their world. While being sensitive to each client's struggle, I explore values and core beliefs in a nonjudgmental environment with empathy to help clients to learn how to empower themselves by relying on their inner strength. These experiences have given me a prodigious foundation to build to the knowledge gained during the graduate program and fieldwork through direct counseling experience with individuals. *Currently video sessions are not offered unless discussed with me in advance.

Hi there, and welcome— If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck in cycles of worry, or weighed down by sadness, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. Reaching out is a powerful first step, and I’m really glad you’re here. I specialize in helping individuals manage anxiety and depression using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a practical and evidence-based approach that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be holding you back and develop tools you can actually use in your daily life to feel more balanced, confident, and in control. My approach is supportive, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. I believe therapy should feel like a safe space where you can be honest, explore what’s going on beneath the surface, and work toward meaningful change at your own pace. Whether you’re dealing with constant worry, low motivation, stress, or just feeling “off,” we can work together to create a path forward that feels right for you. We can communicate through messaging, live chat, phone, or video sessions—whatever feels most comfortable for you. You deserve to feel better—and change is absolutely possible. If you’re ready, I’d be honored to support you on your journey.

I believe in working with individuals and families to achieve their highest goals. I believe the client is the expert in his/her own life and I fully encourage one to strive to work towards building a strong foundation within themselves and their families whatever that looks like to them, to that end I use focused solution therapy, internal systems therapy, mindfulness/compassion therapy, cognitive and cognitive behavioral, dialectical therapy, emotional freedom techniques and/or neurolinguistic techniques . My private practice is located on my farm at 2419 Silver Creek Rd. Mill Spring, N.C. I also provide animal assisted therapy to private clients who are appropriate for this therapy. Use of diagnosis: Some health insurance companies will reimburse clients for counseling services and some will not. Most will require a diagnosis of a mental-health condition and indicate that you must have an “illness” before they will agree to reimburse you. Some conditions for which people seek counseling do not qualify for reimbursement. We will discuss the use of diagnosis and if/when submitted to your insurance company it will become a part of your permanent insurance records. I began working with BetterHelp as an online therapist in October 2021. All billing and scheduling is handled through the BetterHelp platform. Diagnosis is not used as a tool in this format and clients must agree to use 911 for emergencies as this is not a platform to be used for crisis intervention. All billing is handled through their organization. Some other telehealth organizations will require a diagnosis and will bill insurance. Private practice sessions are usually 50-60 minutes. Cost varies between individual and family conjoint sessions. I provide phone sessions for clients who live out of the area. These sessions are generally 30-45 minutes in length. Use of a diagnosis will be discussed and can be used as a road map for treatment in my private practice if on a self – pay basis. I will keep confidential anything you say as part of our counseling relationship with the following exceptions: You direct me in writing to disclose information to someone else, it is determined you are a danger to yourself or others, or I am ordered by a court to disclose information. Although clients are encouraged to discuss any concerns with me first, you may file a complaint against me with the organization below should you feel I am in violation of any of these codes of ethics. Find a therapist near you in Varnamtown, North Carolina

Finding a therapist near you in Varnamtown, North Carolina starts with matching to a licensed professional who fits your needs, schedule, and goals. North Carolina is home to people with diverse mental health needs across urban, suburban, and rural communities, which can make it challenging to find care. BetterHelp connects you with a licensed therapist through tailored matching, so you can begin care from home or wherever works for you.

The network includes over 30,000 licensed therapists globally, and over 4 million people have used BetterHelp to find support through online therapy. During matching, 93% of user preferences are met, which helps you connect with a therapist suited to what you are looking for. Whether you are searching for help with anxiety, trauma, affordable or insurance covered therapy, weekend or flexible scheduling, or virtual sessions, you can find a therapist and get started when you are ready.

Why work with a licensed therapist near you?

Working with a licensed therapist near you gives you access to professional mental health support from someone trained to help you understand and manage what you are going through. A licensed therapist can offer evidence-based approaches, a steady space to talk, and guidance tailored to your situation. In North Carolina, online therapy can make that care more accessible, since sessions happen from home or wherever you are, without the need to travel to an office. This can help if your schedule is full, if travel is difficult, or if you simply prefer a more discreet setting. You can learn more about what a therapist does on the therapist role page.

Online therapy can be especially helpful for people living across North Carolina, where access to in-person mental health care may vary by location.

What concerns can therapists help with?

Therapists can help with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety and stress, depression, trauma and PTSD, self-esteem and identity, people-pleasing and fear of rejection, insomnia and racing thoughts, workplace stress and burnout, substance use, parenting and co-parenting stress, grief and loss, and relationship and family challenges. Therapists on BetterHelp may draw on approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), depending on your needs and goals. You can explore support for specific concerns on pages such as generalized anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, and eating disorders.

Please note that therapists on BetterHelp do not provide psychiatric medication management or formal diagnoses.

Online therapy vs. in-person therapy in North Carolina

Online therapy and in-person therapy both connect you with a licensed professional, and the main difference is how you meet. In North Carolina, online therapy through BetterHelp lets you have sessions by phone, video, or in-app messaging, so you can meet from home or on a schedule that fits your life. In-person therapy takes place at an office and may involve travel and set appointment windows. Online therapy may be more accessible for people with busy schedules, limited transportation, or a preference for a more discreet setting. Both formats can support meaningful progress, so the right choice often comes down to what fits your life.
