William Wilson
I am a licensed professional counselor in the State of Missouri, and I have been practicing for six years. I typically work with adolescents and adults, and I have experience treating a broad range of concerns. These include anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, spiritual crises, organizational skills and goals, communication, and relationships. I also have experience with grief and trauma, as well as abuse. Finally, I have also worked with couples and pre-marital counseling. I utilize multiple different approaches, depending upon the context and the client's specific needs. For instance, I often utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, logotherapy, narrative therapy, and existential approaches. I appreciate the complexity of individual's and the variability each person's unique set of circumstances bring to the table. Hence, my approach reflects these observations, as I aim to avoid over-simplistic or reductionist views of people and their concerns. Life can easily become overwhelming, as our daily experiences present us with a staggering amount of complexity and stress. It's not reasonable to assume that we can, or even should, handle these things on our own. We are social creatures, and thriving in the world requires us to take hold of those who have extended themselves to us. That is what it means to make the choice to speak to a counselor. It is the acceptance of an invitation to walk together, with someone, through a season of life. It is one of the most human things we can do. I greatly anticipate walking alongside you, as you take the first steps to address and overcome the obstacles in your path.

Hello and Welcome! I am really looking forward to getting started with you. It can take a big step to make that initial contact for some guidance and help. My name is Sue. I've been a therapist for over 30 years and use a family systems theoretical approach when helping others through the issues and how those issues developed. I also use Cognitive behavioral therapy to guide people on making the changes that they want to see in their lives. Often it's the patterns that we aren't aware of that have an underlying pull to keep us where we are or keep us from making changes. I also help people who have survived traumatic childhood experiences that still haunt or effect one's life that can feel debilitating. Throughout my tenure as a therapist I have worked in many capacities, including developing programs, supervising therapists, running the administrative aspects of programs, such as grants, events, etc. I have lived in several places within this country from large metropolis to small town communities. I work with LGBQ, youth and young people, families, couples, career issues, persons seeking major change, persons seeing recovery from psychological trauma, depression, anxiety, and more. I'm looking forward to working with you! Talk to you soon! Sue
Karen Kavaloski
Hello, my name is Karen Kavaloski and I am a LPC in New Mexico, North Carolina and in Missouri. I was originally licensed as a counselor in 2009 while working in Arizona by the State of North Carolina after making a career change from a almost 30 year history in nursing. My passion since I was a young adult was counseling and it took me almost 30 years to achieve my goal of becoming a counselor. I was a Marine wife for almost 30 years and have traveled allot, I have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. My youngest, a son, and one of my grandchildren are severely autistic so I can identify with the stress and struggles some families have with managing special needs within their family. I am also a cancer survivor. I believe we all have an ability to heal the body, mind and soul and I consciously strive daily to be an active participant in my life and support and encourage others to do the same. My education beyond my nursing and counseling includes a Masters in Business Administration and a Doctorate in (Christian) Ministries. I have worked primarily over this past 17 years with trauma and substance abuse in the adult population with about 3 years working with the teenage population in these areas. I also have worked about 5 years total with prison reentry and counseling individuals and families with histories of incarceration in state and federal prison. I believe in working with individuals and families to achieve their highest goals. I believe the client is the expert in his/her own life and I fully encourage one to strive to work towards building a strong foundation within themselves and their families whatever that looks like to them, to that end I use focused solution therapy, internal systems therapy, mindfulness/compassion therapy, cognitive and cognitive behavioral, dialectical therapy, emotional freedom techniques and/or neurolinguistic techniques . I am also the author and publisher self help books under my Sacred Self Workbook Series Outside my therapy practice, I spend my leisure time reading. meditation/praying and gardening. I do light exercise daily.
Michael McGaugh
I have about twenty years work experience in the field of mental health services, I have worked as an adult case manager in community support services. I have also been an intake specialist; but the one area I have found the most rewarding is working as a mental health counselor. I enjoy working with people in helping them to see issues and problems from different perspectives and helping them to make better choices that will help them with feeling better about themselves and to overcome their personal problems. I hold advanced degrees in psychology and mental health counseling. From my education and work experience, I have found CBT and positive center approaches along with solution based therapy to be effective in helping clients to become more mindful along with helping them to build coping skills that they can utilize to help them to be more empowered in making healthy decisions in their lives.
Rhonda Palmer
Welcome! 🤗 I’m Rhonda Palmer, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, human being, and a big believer that change happens best in a space that feels safe, real, and judgment free. I have over 17 years of experience in Social Work, and I'm licensed in Missouri, Texas, and Arizona. I often assist Highly Sensitive People in navigating anxiety, relationship patterns, self esteem, neurodivergent experiences (including autism and ADHD), and more. I’m also certified as a Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional and Autism Spectrum Clinical Specialist. If you’ve ever felt like you had to hide parts of yourself to be accepted, this is your space to drop the mask. I don’t believe in “fixing” who you are. Instead, I believe in helping you understand yourself, work passed old wounds, and to support you in working towards building a life for yourself that honors your strengths. I work best with people who are ready to be real, even if “real” means messy, unsure, or figuring it out one step at a time. You don’t need to impress me or get everything “right.” However, you do need to show up with honesty, responsibility, curiosity, and a willingness to grow because that’s how real change happens. During our sessions, I’ll bring compassion and care, but I’ll also hold boundaries so our space stays safe and balanced. I don’t work well with people looking to control others, avoid responsibility, or seek validation without reflection. Also, during our sessions, I’ll utilize therapeutic modalities such as CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution Focused Therapy, and Brainspotting. Mostly, I’ll bring empathy, humor, and the belief that you already have the wisdom inside of you, I’m just here to help you uncover it. “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” - Albert Einstein “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” - Nelson Mandela If you’re ready for this kind of work, I welcome you.

Tanadja Barber
I’m TJ Barber, a Board-Certified Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor based in St. Louis, Missouri. I specialize in supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals, racial and ethnic minority clients, caregivers, helping professionals, and adults navigating complex life transitions, relationship concerns, family tension, identity exploration, and emotional burnout. Many of the people I work with are managing the pressure of others’ expectations while also navigating cultural identity, discrimination, marginalization, or the emotional weight of being misunderstood within their families, workplaces, or communities. Therapy with me offers a supportive and creative space to understand your emotions, challenge your inner critic, strengthen boundaries, and explore patterns that may no longer serve you. My approach to minority mental health recognizes that distress does not occur in isolation. Culture, identity, relationships, community, and systemic barriers can all shape emotional well-being and access to support. With more than seven years of clinical experience, I integrate art therapy with existential, cognitive behavioral, relational-cultural, and DBT-informed mindfulness approaches. Artmaking is always optional and can support reflection, emotional expression, and self-discovery when words feel limited. Together, we can work toward greater self-understanding, healthier relationships, emotional well-being, and a life that feels more authentic and sustainable.
