More importantly, I want a client to leave a session feeling like he or she was heard, and the problems, issues, and goals were the focus of the session. During sessions, clients should feel comfortable sharing and asking questions and not feel judged in any way. Person Centered Therapy is ideal for accomplishing those things. I also believe one's thoughts greatly impact one's mood, emotional well-being, and behavior. Teaching clients how to overcome many of his or her negative thinking patterns is extremely helpful and utilizing DBT can be beneficial in assisting a client to achieve peace within while working on problems and overcoming problems through emotion regulation and mindfulness. Whether it is depression, anxiety, grief, addiction, or some other mental health issue, I will assist and support clients as they work in either overcoming the problem or learn to manage issues more effectively. I am a compassionate and caring counselor and a good listener. I know firsthand how important it is to have a good counselor because I have experienced trauma, grief, and a host of other emotions and symptoms as a result of my trauma.
